What is Cocopeat?
Cocopeat, also known as coir pith or coconut peat, is a natural byproduct derived from coconut husks. It is obtained by processing the fibrous material found between the outer shell and the hard internal shell of coconuts. Cocopeat is a spongy and fibrous material with high water-holding capacity.
There are 2 types of Cocopeat :
1. Low EC cocopeat is characterized by its lower electrical conductivity, making it an ideal choice for direct use in gardens and plant beds, providing optimal conditions for plant growth.
2. High EC cocopeat, with its higher electrical conductivity, is better suited for composting applications, contributing to the nutrient-rich decomposition process.
ENHANCE ROOT GROWTH
The increased porosity of the potting mix nurtures healthy root development by ensuring loose and well-ventilated soil
DISEASE PREVENTION
With its absence of bacterial and fungal spores, coco peat safeguards your garden or greenhouse from potential diseases
EFFICIENT WATER AND NUTRIENT USE
Easy hydration properties and reduced consumption benefit specialty crops such as mushrooms and microgreens
OPTIMAL PH BALANCE
Coco peat's mildly acidic pH range provides a favorable environment for nutrient uptake by plants and encourages beneficial microbial activity
SPECIFICATIONS
Cocopeat is widely used in horticulture and gardening as a growing medium and soil amendment. It has excellent water retention properties, allowing it to hold moisture and provide a favorable environment for plant roots. At the same time, it provides good drainage, preventing waterlogged conditions.
